Introducing Wanot AI—we are a fresh face to the global AI scene, fueled by a why not? spirit. We are born from a belief that cutting-edge tech should serve people first. With so many breakthroughs hitting the headlines, Wanot is here to cut through the noise and deliver solutions that actually work. We keep our eyes on what matters: finding practical ways to help in everyday life utilizing AI, then sharing them so everyone can benefit. In short: why not try something different with AI? That’s how Wanot was born.

Our Roots

Wanot AI began within the instruct.kr Discord community, where open-source LLM enthusiasts gathered to share insights and push the boundaries of what’s possible. In this creative environment, our founders, maywell and Sigrid Jin, developed LogicKor—a benchmark that quickly earned widespread respect as a standard for evaluating LLM performance in South Korea. Energized by that achievement, we set out to build tangible, human-centered products that people want to use every day.

The Team

We formed in September 2024 and embraced a fully remote, borderless work culture from day one. Our office is a Discord server, and our team members are free to work from wherever suits them best.

maywell: An experienced and well-known LLM researcher who contributed to teams at Yanolja and Sionic AI, maywell co-founded instruct.kr and created LogicKor. Sigrid Jin: A versatile engineer who took a winding path from math studies to blockchain data engineering at DSRV and Machine Learning Engineer at Sionic AI, Sigrid combines deep technical know-how in Kubernetes, cloud-native tech and Python with a forward-looking vision for product building. Cilio: With a background in managing content-driven projects as a product director (PD) and a keen eye for media trends, cilio’s passion lies in shaping LLM-enabled services that engage and inspire. Cilio applies a storyteller’s perspective to the world of LLM, guiding product development toward experiences that resonate with audiences everywhere.

What We’re Building

Our first product is Elyn AI, a platform that reimagines how we interact with virtual characters. We see character-based chat as one of the most compelling use cases for LLMs and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) technology—an avenue where AI can connect with people on a personal, meaningful level. By refining Elyn AI’s foundations, we’re creating modular tools and components that anyone, from solo developers to established companies, can integrate into their own products.

Behind the scenes, our research efforts go far beyond chat alone. We’re pushing into areas like LLM, Diffusion Models, Embedding/Rerankers, advanced retrieval strategies and beyond. With partners like Teddy Note trusting us to deliver top-tier results, we’re committed to helping others realize AI’s full potential in their projects.

Incorporated as a C-corporation in Delaware, Wanot AI embraces a global outlook and distributed teamwork. Our team members work across United States, Canada and South Korea. The vision grounded on top of Wanot is to help shape an AI ecosystem that’s grounded in accessibility, reliability, and utility—where technology adapts to human needs, not the other way around. We’re just at the start of this journey, eager to learn, to grow, and to build the future of AI together.
